We stood outside with informative signs to show the public.

Here is Dahlia, Joey and I with Jawan on the couch of Focus on South Florida.

At the 8th graders semi-formal we had a designated area for our "Impaired Driving" activity. Students had the opportunity to drive on the Wii MarioKart with vision distorting goggles that gave them the sight of what one would have while driving under the influence.

We wrote on the sidewalks information for the students to view and learn from on their way into the school. In the picture "Buckle Up!" is being written.

We are in preparation for our Ghost Out on May 6. These are two pictures from what we have so far. I video will eventually be posted on the youtube and hopefully the blog. :] At the top you see four people in mourning over the loss of their dear friend. In the bottom photo you see the victim as her car is about to be struck by a drunk driver. The whole skit will be very intense and meaningful.

Coral Springs Charter Panthers: Joining together to raise funds for Kids In Distress.

Today, the CSC Panthers had a Jeans Day to raise funds for Kids in Distress. Kids in Distress is a community-supported agency providing services for the prevention and treatment of child abuse in South Florida. KID’s programs offer a continuum of care and essential services to child victims and children and families at risk for abuse and neglect.

Thanks to all the Panthers for their support of a valuable community agency.

Yesterday, Friday, April 25, the SADD Act Out Loud officers, Ashley, Adrienne, Dahlia and myself along with our sponsor Ms. Dallas adventured out and spent the field trip day promoting our campaign. First we gathered our belongings from school, and visited the Coral Springs Police Department. After signing in, we met with Serg. Bruce Kolowski who led us upstairs to the third floor and we followed him into a police classroom where meetings are held. We introduced ourselves to the group of Resource Officers and other officials, and informed them of our project. After our introduction we asked informative interview questions based on Teen Safety. Each gave a very well informed response. We concluded the event there with asking the officers to sign pledge cards which will "inspire the teens of today to be safe drivers of tomorrow" and also giving them a thank you basket for their effort to talk to us and keeping teens safe on the road. After the five of us went out for a very nice lunch, and then went to our next stop. Located just beyond the "CORAL SPRINGS" welcoming sign was a "Drive Safely" sign where a victim had past away due to a auto mobile collision. We put flowers, balloons, and stuffed animals there to show SADD's respect and mourning of the passing. With little time to spare we were on our way to North Broward Hospital where we were soon due to attend a meeting. As we arrived on time, Sharon Holmes, Trauma Director of North Broward Medical Center, led us from the main welcome hall, we were taken VIP to a "classroom" that was set very welcoming to our attendance. We were given various pamphlets regarding teen safety behind the wheel and trauma resulting pamphlets. We were also given DVD's about being behind the wheel, and many important information. As we sat down a TV was playing a HBO recorded segment about teen trauma effecting after having a cause of a auto mobile collision. The video was very deep feeling, which made me think that EVERY school. middle and high, should show this video to have students truly aware that being behind the wheel of a car is very serious and should not be taken for granted. After the 6 trauma staff members, including Ms. Holmes arrived to be interviewed by us, we were able to really get valuable information from each person. We were then taken on a tour of a trauma exam room that was not currently being used, and also we were able to check out the paramedics vehicle. WHAT A DAY, so many great things did we learn, and we were able to get our whole experience recorded, in hope to have students not only in our school but as many schools in the county see the experience we had in hope they can take advantage and choose the right path of being safe while driving.

Good day everyone,

It has been a while since I shared my thought with the world. I am a senior at CORAL SPRINGS CHARTER, as the year draw near to prom so many thought are running though my head. Prom time has been proven to have the most fatal car crashs. I want to let everyone know that this is a night that so many of us have been waited for our whole life, 50 years from now tell our grandchildren that will be going to prom all about that magical night for us.So our SADD body is putting on a GHOST OUT..... That is a program given to the juniors and seniors of our school. It inform the students what a magical night can become if they decide to take that wrong lane to drink and do drugs then go behind the wheel of a car. Our goal is to show the students this isn't a joke when it come to their and other people fate.

An article posted in our school newspaper, Charter Chapters! It's so exciting that our school gets a chance to read about our team at their own convinience. :] Thank-you to Ashley Wright who wrote the awesome article and thank-you to the newspaper staff who gave us the spot in the paper. The team appreciates the work put in by them.

In other exciting news, we're planning on visiting a local police station and hospital to talk with the staff. It will surely be interesting to hear the opinions and views of those who were not in the accident but were there to help those who were in it. Most people hear from the person in the accident about how they felt, but it will be a new experience for everyone to hear from police and hospital workers who help to save lives from severe crashes caused by reckless teen driving. A car crash impacts everyone in many different ways and we are going out and seeing a new point of view.

Hey everyone! It's been too long since my last blog. I just wanted to talk a little bit about our Ghost Out plans. As usual, ghost out follows our goal of getting better each year and this year is really exciting! The skit is really deep but at the same time will be interesting and will captivate our audience. What's really new, is that it will be partially in video! I'm looking foward to filming and editing, as usual :] . It's going to be a lot of fun and the shirt ideas are super creative.
As for me, I need to "hit-the-hay" and catch some Z's!!

SPRING BREAK PARTY LIKE A ROCKSTAR- SAFE AND FUN

Heyyyy guyss!!!
Joeyism here! Finally some computer time! Amen! I've been out and about every day! The beach has become my home during this spring break! And i can't wait for some more of it! (Yes, I am partially burnt, but am not hurting ;)
Although we are living out each day better then the last it is still a MUST to be safe, happy, and healthy, which you can never put on a break! Heres a subject that isn't much talked about but is important to safe teen driving, The other night my dad and I were on the road driving in his car, when the dashboard lit up with a red flashing symbol, the engine was about to over-heat; just our luck! We were far away from home, so we took matter into our own hands, we pulled the car over to the side were it could not interfiere with any oncoming traffic, always be on the look out for that! SAFETY FIRST! We then let the car rest for a bit. At a second attempt to restart the car, we decided it would be SMART not to take any chances with fate. We left the car parked near the closest restaurant where it would be out of the way, and near a place were it is noticable. We called up my step-mom and she so kindly drove and picked us up. We left a note on the car, "Car trouble, toh-truck on monday" and we safetly rode home with my step-mom. The importance for safety and being aware what to do during car trouble is manditory, and now that our cars our being used more during break, a few of us are bound to have a flat tire, broken down car, or ENGINE TROUBLE.

im off to the bed, beach in the morning, AGAIN yay
