A day in SADD's Shoes....

What A day indeed!
Anyways....
Hey again, Another good evening to everyone. Its Joeyism calling out to you all out there tonight. So what a day today was!!!! To begin today I woke up to one of the most important days for sophomores of Florida. Something the majority of us work to hard to prepare for, FCAT! Today was the Math FCAT, Yesterday was the Reading FCAT, which I found easy enough of a test considering it was FCAT, for today's math test, Session One of the MATH was a bit hard, I was so overwhelmed with it but I managed to finish that part in time. Then we had to do Session 2 which was much easier. I felt much more accomplished, which led the rest of the day at ease for me, Then SADD had its Act Out Loud meeting which was very successful, I believe the sophomores were more open with ideas and motivation now that we were finally done with the FCAT our minds were clear again! We easily breezed through out what we had to talk about, and we brainstormed many well planed out goals and plans. We collaborated a collection of ideas that we plan to be creating a video with. The ideas for this video are phenomenal, I can not wait to start it soon :). Today we also discussed our Ghost Out event and how we will have the empowerment to make it bigger and better then last year, because thats a goal to strive for excellence. Like the expression says: Your good is never your best because you good can always be better and your better can always be best! So today we talked about what we are doing to reach our goals and how we will meet them to make them better and to then make them best. We all worked together through teamwork to get a better understanding of what is needed to reach were we have to be. This project takes alot of time, it goes day by day, though when we work together as a team and plan and brainstorm, we are all able to manage our tasks and organize our checklists, we all have responsibilities each night that need to be met before the next day because at the end of the day, the most important thing for CSCS SADD is that our voices are heard and that we are proud of each others accomplishments.
And tonight I would like to close with an inspirational quote,
"Life is like a game of cards. The hand that is dealt you represents determinism; the way you
play it is free will"
Jawaharal Nehru
I believe that we have that determination and that this quote just symbolizes that SADD can take any challenge given to us in our hands. We put our effort into accurately taking a simple idea on paper and transforming it into a master piece.
